Transforming lives and landscapes with trees

“Seeing the good in the trees”

Ian Edward Brown – Winston Churchill Memorial Trust – Fellowship to study Agroforestry in Europe and Africa.

The basis for my Fellowship was that agroforestry seemed to be less understood and practised in the UK in than the rest of the world; mainland Europe and Africa standing out in particular as places of good practice. It’s opportune that since deciding to study the topic of Agroforestry, it seems to be moving up the agendas of several policy facing organisations. One of the key documents is a joint Soil Association and Woodland Trust document called Agroforestry in England – Benefits, Barriers and Opportunities – It is endorsed by 12 organisations.
